Skelmersdale building group Construction Partnership UK has completed a 50,000 sq ft warehouse and office facility for Peel at Port Salford.
The building will be home to freight group Rhenus Logistics and is CPUK’s 20th project for Peel.
The Boysnope Wharf warehouse and infrastructure project is expected to be fully operational by the end of this year. CPUK Civils & Remediation remediated and stabilised the 3.3-acre site before the firm’s construction arm took over, creating a two-storey steel frame building supported by the installation of more than 750 concrete piles.
Construction work also involved improvement to the existing access and provision of a new drainage outfall into the Manchester Ship Canal. CPUK also provided 16 dock levellers and shelters, a service yard, car parking and external landscaping.
The development has been designed by Manchester-based Bate & Taylor Architects.
CPUK group managing director Steve Burke said: “This is a high quality logistics facility providing a benchmark for future development on the emerging Port Salford freight terminal site.
“The successful remedial work, construction and handover involved two specialist divisions within CPUK working together to deliver an efficient and cost-effective development for Peel. It is this all-round solution-finding approach that is helping us to win new work in all sectors.”
Working with and for CPUK will be a pleasure!
