CPUK Civils and Remediation are awarded the Remediation of former industrial land covering an area of approximately 3.25ha for a future residential development.

Works began with the removal of existing vegetation and will continue with removal and treatment of all asbestos containing materials, remediation of any hydrocarbon and VOC impacted soils, excavating and recompaction of all made ground on site to a maximum depth of 2m and to a maximum depth of 3m below final ground level for the removal of foundations. The crushing and screening of all brick and concrete arisings, floor slabs, asphalt and retaining walls will be to specification (6F2) for re-use on site.

Remediation Incs: Geomenbrane lined bund and base containment cell constructed to hold hydrocarbon impacted soils. Excavation of hydrocarbon impacted soils and materials held in quarantine.
Continue breaking of hardstanding concrete slabs and below ground structures.

Controlled stripping off tarmacadam surface covering across site and material taken to stockpile.

Continue bulk excavation of Made Ground down to 2.50m depth or surface of natural ground on the northern part of site (Panels 1 to Panel 11) material taken to SP04 for reuse as engineered fill.
