Columbas Close, Coventry*


St Columba’s Close; residence project is the latest luxury student accommodation to hit the Coventry skyline. The project will consist of 91 high end studio apartments over 5 floors with a state-of-the-art gym, cinema room and common areas. Unique to the project, the studio’s take on a different look and layout on each floor offering its future tenants different living standards and its owners future proof rental opportunities.

The site itself is situated on an existing brownfield site within the city centre of Coventry and only a few hundred yards away from the closest university campus. The compact and complex site has seen CPUK work closely with Coventry City Council to negotiate footpath closures, highway reductions and oversailing rights along with helping the client negotiate a party wall agreement with its neighbour whilst maintaining a healthy relationship with the local residences and businesses.

Due to tight timescales in order to meet the intake of students, we have worked closely with the client and design team to optimise off-site solutions such as the ‘bathroom pods’, performed foul pumping stations for the basement and brick slips manufactured off-site rather than traditional brickwork.
