Oakapple Offices, Ilkley

This development comprised of a new 30,000 sqft office scheme with surface level car parking and built to a BREEAM Very Good standard. The development is set out over three floors. Steel frame forms the structure with reinforced ground bearing concrete slab to the ground floor and composite steel and concrete deck to the upper floors with concrete foundations on 300mm square concrete driven piles.

External walls comprise off Artstone, Curtain Walling and Western Red Cedar cladding to the front façade with both composite and system cladding to the side and rear wall elevations.
Internally there is a lift and access stair between all floors with WC facilities at all levels in a central core and ground floor main entrance.

All office areas have raised floor access. The offices and central core areas are fully finished to a high standard. The access road and car park have tarmac finishes with paving to the main entrance.

External hard and soft landscaping around the perimeter of the building complete the finishes.

Challenges on the project were the close proximity to Ilkley railway lines and the adjacent construction site. The Mechanical and Electrical Services and Renewables (Photovoltaic and Car Charging Points) have been incorporated within the design, in order to aid the completed scheme to achieve a BREEAM Very Good Rating.
