Speke Boulevard, Liverpool*

A design and build scheme, providing 3 no retail units for retail giant TJ Morris. Unit 1 is to be occupied and fitted out by Home Bargains. Units 2A and 2B are a speculative build and will be let to separate tenants.

Works involve the construction of ground bearing concrete slabs for each unit. The units will each be constructed from a steel frame and clad with a mixture of horizontal cladding and Alucobond.

The roofs will be finished in a mixture of low pitch and standard Kingspan cladding. Unit 1 will be completed with a sprinkler tank and pump house to accommodate the installation of a sprinkler system by the tenant’s sprinkler system specialist.

All necessary services, utilities and a new substation will be constructed for the development, together with external works forming roads, car parking and associated landscaping/fencing along with a garden centre area to the rear of the Home Bargain unit.

Prior to construction work commencing, our sister company CPUK Civils and Remediation will undertake significant ground improvement works. These works will include High Energy Impact Compaction to the building footprint, and re-engineering the materials to the external areas. A capping layer will then be placed using materials stockpiled on site, followed by a layer of MOT Type 1.

As part of the contract, CPUK will carry out extensive 278 works to 4 no. junctions along the busy Speke Boulevard which is the main road into Liverpool City Centre from the South.
