A new build, 3 storey, 56 bed care facility constructed within the grounds of the existing Walshaw Hall Care Home.
Prior to construction commencing we had to remove Japanese Knotweed and Himalayan Balsam from the site. The initial phase of the works involved deep excavations and storing arisings on site prior to starting the substructure foundations.
The development comprised of internal blockwork walls with stone external masonry, a timber truss roof with mansard construction with traditional slate and single ply membrane. The floors are precast and wide span with a screed topping.
Externally works comprised of drainage, new incoming mains supplies, substation, external plant room, provision of a new car park, overflow car park and both hard and soft landscaping.
“The contract works were planned well, organised and executed to a good standard. During the build, we have found the company to be professional and accommodating and the quality of workmanship has generally been of a very high standard. The end result looks fantastic, we’d definitely recommend CPUK and would not hesitate to use them again in the future.
In particular, we have been impressed with the experience and practicality of Wes Arrowsmith (Project Manager) and his team with their sensible approach to contractual matters. He’s been efficient, friendly, reliable and professional, happy to give advice and responsive to requests.”
